The Sufi Poet, Rumi, once said
"Beyond right doing and wrong doing
There is a field.
I'll meet you there."

A Spiritual direction session will usually start with a period of silence to help us both become centered in the presence of God. I will open the session with a prayer. Then I will ask you to share your hope for the time together.
It is popular to say that you and I are on a spiritual journey. I will accompany you for a while, however long our travel together might be. It will always be your journey. My job is to point out any signposts i see along the way.
Our session is entirely confidential, subject only to ethical considerations similar to those of a physician or psychologist.
At the close, either you or I will offer a prayer in keeping with the time we've just spent together.
Our session might be about:
- Discernment:how our choices fit in with the greater fabric of our lives or God's will for us.
- Formation: our concept of the mysterious other that enfolds all of our lives and that we often call God.
- Or just recalling the events of our lives.
